Brief
Refurbishment and adaptive reuse of a former garage and storeroom into a workplace. The long, linear plan is daylit only from the front façade — a defining constraint in the layout strategy. The plan articulates reception, waiting area, kitchenette, washrooms, two generous private offices and a meeting room.
A neutral palette chosen to respect the building's character and to bounce the daylight from the façade through to the back of the space. An overall register between the contemporary and the classical, drawing the workplace closer to a domestic atmosphere.
Elements and materials
Office partitions set at 2 m — below the ceiling height — so that daylight from the façade can carry through the whole plan unobstructed. Materials and finishes mix registers: contemporary surfaces punctuated by classical details. Bespoke joinery designed to exploit the linear geometry.
